Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Paradigm you podcast.

Speaker 2:

You're listening to the Paradigm you podcast. On today's episode, we continue the conversation about harnessing the power within your subconscious mind to get whatever it is that you want in your life. We're talking about this all month, but today we are doing an introduction to really cover the nuts and bolts within.

Speaker 3:

You're listening to the Paradigm you podcast. You're about to start transforming your life by growing your mind and expanding your paradigms. Here we'll cover real life topics, just like the stuff you'd share with a good friend. This podcast will serve up topics that weigh on our hearts and keep us up at night, whether it's navigating parenthood and becoming an adult, or wayfinding, personal development, marriage and money. You, my friend, are in the right place. I'm glad you're here.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back to the Paradigm you podcast. This is episode 157.

Speaker 4:

Lisa can you believe it? Amazing, I really can't. No, I'm small.

Speaker 2:

So quickly and we are continuing the topic of subconscious reprogramming and how you can harness the power within by tapping into this amazing tool. So we're going to be talking about this all of the month of November, but today in particular, we want to make sure that we are kind of doing an intro to subconscious reprogramming, because last week we started with talking about the resistance that's coming up. Lisa, and I don't know if I told you, but we've gotten so many messages asking for more details on how to do this when you would do this, where to go to get this, and I said you know what? We just got to do an intro and actually cover a lot of the starter topics before we can go any farther.

Speaker 4:

Absolutely Having a foundational understanding of how this all works is really key to implementing it.

Speaker 2:

It is. It is because it's an amazing tool, but if you don't know how to apply it or when to use it, or all the intricacies, it may not be helpful. So, lisa, where's a good place to start in your mind?

Speaker 4:

You know what a great question. I think for me, especially coaching the last whatever 20 years that the first thing to really understand is that you cannot think your way to higher performance. That really stood out to me when I started the subconscious reprogramming journey, because so much in the coaching field especially, or in the personal development space, we read something and we think if we just think that then we can have that. And if that was true, napoleon Hill's book Thinking Grow Rich, everyone who read it would be rich, and we know that that's not the case, and so I think it's important for everyone to really understand that if you could just think your way to a higher performance or to get anything you want, you would already have that. So now that we know that you can't just think your way to it, that you have to be something different, I think that allows us a bit of a framework to walk into understanding context and what's really happening around us.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you know, lisa, inside of our Elevate Group you actually did a really great training that you explained. What are the top three ways of subconscious reprogramming? Do you remember what those are?

Speaker 4:

Yeah, well, one of them is you cannot think your way to higher performance. The other is brain biology is really habits. So when we talk about habits and we will be talking about that here more inside the podcast, but a lot of times we can personalize that and really that's just brain based science and we actually perform those things every day on autopilot because that's how we've just conditioned ourselves to behave. And the other one really is that you have to be the person first, yeah, and when we talk about B.

Speaker 2:

I think it's important to kind of tap into that a little bit. Who do you have to be? We've recorded episodes on this before. But consider it also from the lens of, if you look at it, the letters B, e. It's also behavior, yeah, and what behaviors do you need to enable or, you know, portray, and then, what are your beliefs? I think those things you have to keep those in mind, because when you want to change these things, those are the things that you have to rewrite to enable the change that you wish to see.

Speaker 4:

Absolutely. What a beautiful way to say it. And those are two powerful words in the world of subconscious reprogramming, because first you have to be the behavior. So consistency, repetition this is going to be key for anyone who wants to actually accelerate their growth and change using subconscious reprogramming.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you know, one of the really fun things that I think is important to understand is that most of us, for most people, our subconscious programming is really developed in our youth. In fact, most researchers say that it's developed by the age of eight Is that wild.

Speaker 4:

That's so wild it is. And hearing that thinking oh man, that explains my eldest a lot. What was I subconsciously programming into this subconscious? And it's definitely changed how I parent my second, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Because if you think about it, if we're programming our little ones that we're around before the age of eight, they're really creating their entire subconscious programs and memories and understanding of the world. It's so important for us to think about the words that we use, how we engage with these children and also, equally, for us as adults and I'd say most of the people who gravitate to this podcast are people who want to grow and expand and, you know, get into the nitty gritty of personal development. It's important to understand that your subconscious programming was developed from your youth.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's such a powerful awareness for you right now, in this moment, to really breathe that in, because now you get to look at and say, okay, what was possibly programmed into me by the environment that I grew up with, by the people that I was around, by the school that I was in, whatever it may be, the religious place that you went every week, whatever it is, we were all. We were all indoctrinated, and that's not a bad word. I know it gets a lot of political hype. That's not my intention here. It's simply an indication that we were imprinted with things in our youth and now, as an adult, we find times where, oh man, we're button up against some glass ceilings or maybe getting triggered on things, and a lot of that has to do simply with who we were formed in our youth, that we didn't have a role in other than simply being there. Yep.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So if you are listening to this and you're thinking, huh, there's an area of my life that I would like to change, I think it's really important to recognize that, that area of life that you're wanting to change now. The imprints that you had when you were a child are probably the ones the beliefs, the behaviors, the understandings of the world. All of those are nested from your childhood and imprinted on your subconscious beliefs. You know, aristotle actually says give me a child until the age of seven or eight and I'll show you the person that they will become. And you know, when you start thinking about that, it's like, oh, I start looking at my own childhood and I'm like, oh, yep, yep, I see it, I see it.

Speaker 4:

Yes, same here. I look around going yep, that tracks, that tracks, that tracks, yep. And equally, when you start reprogramming you go oh, now I know why I really am the anomaly in the family, or why I am starting to recognize how I'm different. You know, and that's okay too, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So if you are somebody who's digging this and you're like, okay, now I understand it. Now I understand how my subconscious was formed with those beliefs and those imprints, what do I do? What's the next?

Speaker 4:

step. Well, you tell us because you know you are certified in all of this, so you really understand the ins and outs here, april, and I believe there are four different ways that you would encourage people to start looking at from a place to actually start some subconscious reprogramming right.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and I would love to tell you that, but I do think that there's an important piece that we have to just call out it's kind of like the elephant that's in the podcast room and that is that there's a lot of people who have a fear around this idea.

Speaker 4:

Oh so true, yes, like they're going to click like a chicken or something.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so here's the thing I very clearly remember I was so excited when I first learned about these concepts and I was actually in the process of becoming a certified hypnotherapist and it was so interesting. Lisa, I was telling somebody all about this and they got so defensive and they literally put and this is somebody who I have a great relationship with they literally put up their hand like to my face, and they're like stop talking. And I said, well, why isn't this so incredible? And I found out that they had so many stories and beliefs that were tied to what they thought I was going to tell them and I was going to get them to do something scary or embarrassing or concerning. And they're like I don't even you're, you're talking like snake tongue or something. I don't even know what any of the voodoo, you, harry Potter.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, right, that's what I was like what is that called? Oh man, don't give me to that. My kids are loving Harry Potter.

Speaker 2:

But anyways, a lot of people have concerns that they may do something embarrassing or concerning while they're in or working on subconscious reprogramming. So I am here to tell you that your conscious mind and your subconscious mind must always be in harmony. That's like a guiding rule, and because of that, that means that you won't do anything while reprogramming your subconscious. That goes against your core beliefs. So, for example, if you wouldn't rob a bank in your conscious state of being, then you won't rob a bank while you're reprogramming your subconscious. Yeah, it's really important to call that out, and I think some of the subconscious reprogramming gets a stigma or a story attached to it because of people who are stage hypnotists or people who are doing performance. That is a complete. That's not what we're talking about here. They're sure there's a little bit of correlation and I can explain to you what they're doing in detail, but I want to tell you that what we're talking about today has nothing to do with making you cluck like a chicken or rob a bank. Got it.

Speaker 4:

Also, the medical community really does endorse this, and so so I think it's also something for you to just know that this isn't Tom Fulverie or Quackery at all. It's actually a very legitimate, legitimate practice and Healing modality things to consider in order to accelerate your growth wherever that is.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, in fact, actually I don't know if you know this um least, but the Stanford Medical team actually has endorsed hypnosis, and here's a quote like right out of the words it says by. This is by David Spiegel. It says hypnosis may seem like magic. And when I say hypnosis, that's just one form of subconscious reprogramming. But they say hypnosis may seem like magic, yet evidence proves it is significantly therapeutic and scientifically proven and we know it works. We don't know exactly how, but the science is beginning to figure it out and if it was a pill, we would all be prescribing it.

Speaker 4:

Such a great quote really, really powerful stuff.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So now that we've talked about making sure that you're not clucking like a chicken and we've explained to you that your subconscious truly is imprinted by the age of seven or eight, we want to actually talk to you a little bit about what are some of the ways and forms that you can actually do this, and lisi said that there was four, and you're correct, there's a lot of them. But I'd say you know what we do within our coaching programs is we really subscribe to four. Two of them are the two that we see consistently working on a regular basis, the best, but I would say all four of these can accelerate Any kind of changes that you're wanting to see in your life, and the first one being affirmations. Do you want to talk a little bit about that, because you were actually just teaching about this a couple weeks ago.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and I wouldn't say it's affirmations in the sense of, you know, just telling yourself I'm awesome or I'm fitting, healthy and Rich. It's really about a multi sensory experience when you're working with the subconscious mind, and so the first level of kind of self affirmations really does involve an intentional scripting of what it is you want and then repeating that. So there are definitely tools and resources available and we we share those inside elevate. But for now, what you could do is just get a lot of clarity On exactly what you want in your life Not what you don't want, okay, but what you do want and repeat those as frequently as you can during the day.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's a big one. You know, the the consistency piece is key. The other one that we see the most value in is doing exercises tied to visualizations. When you're seeing it, you're feeling it, you're having a whole lot of those details and it's radiating through your body. It's actually changing the chemistry makeup of your body, the energetic frequency that your body is vibrating at, and what's really exciting about that is that your subconscious starts to feel that it sees it. It doesn't know the difference between truth or fiction, and so the cool part is is you can start changing and imprinting those higher elevated feelings On to your subconscious, and then your subconscious says oh well, when I think or do x, it makes me feel really good.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's pretty.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

I love it so much. Our brain is such a powerful tool on the journey for sure, and if you're looking to create a new habit or stop an old one, this is. This is gold right here, and yeah, it happened quicker.

Speaker 2:

Those are our top two that we consistently see working and accelerating change the fastest. The other two that I think are important to note is the first one being hypnosis and instant self hypnosis. In fact, Lisa, I don't know if you know this, but I actually used self hypnosis to birth one of my children. I did know that.

Speaker 4:

So cool.

Speaker 2:

You know it's. I can go on on about the the scientific approaches to medical healing that you can use, but I think that has to be in another podcast.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2:

But then the other one, along with hypnosis and self hypnosis, would be meditation and breathwork, and that one's probably one of the easiest and I would say that's almost like a gateway drug If you, if you ask me it's, you know, tape. Taking those deep breaths allow your brain waves to lower to a different frequency, which allows you to really start recalibrating your subconscious for the intended changes that you want. And we'll talk about the brain and how it works a little bit more in one of our next episodes. But I think that's important to talk about those four top ways to reprogram.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, absolutely. And at this point you might be asking well, how can I, how can I start actually using this? And what we would encourage you to think about is, again, first get clear on what it is you want and then you have to start building the habit, because really the key with any of whatever you pick, one of those four ways that April just shared, is really to understand it's all about building a healthy habit to actually repeat, repeat, repeat, because consistency is how you're going to actually reprogram your brain at this phase.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we aren't advocating for you to go out and try all of them at once. Everybody works a little bit differently. This episode is truly just scratch the surface. Get you a little curious, especially if you haven't been exposed to this, because most people haven't been exposed to these concepts or these ideas at all.

Speaker 2:

So I think it's important that we don't overwhelm anyone. You know, I know, when I first started getting into this it was like turning on a fire hose, like holy cow. How did I live this many years of my life and not know that this is all available to me? And this is how I operate. If I look around my environment, it truly is a reflection of what my subconscious reprogramming is. Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 4:

Well, and I would also. I would also share that if you're on the journey and you're sitting there going, I know exactly what I need to do, but I'm just not doing it. Or I know exactly what I want, but I'm not going after it, I'm stuck. I don't know why. It's because of this, and this is what can help you out of it. Right, it's because your subconscious has an old, limiting belief that you might not even know is there, because it happened in your youth or some part on your journey. And so you have this opportunity now to say wait a second, I'm going to choose to get out of this stuck. I'm going to choose to actually do what I know I need to do, and the way I'm going to support myself in getting those new results and new outcomes is to use subconscious reprogramming. So if you're wondering, is this even for me? I don't need faster, bigger, better results.

Speaker 4:

We would challenge you and say, well, I'm going to do this. Why don't you go ahead and look around you and say, well, is this everything I want? Is there anything new or different that I'm looking for in my life? Because we guarantee you, if this is something that you're wanting, if you want something different. This is the way to get there, yep, and we're going to share more in the next couple of episodes this week. So stick with us, because we can't wait to tell you even more about reprogramming your subconscious to harness the power within. So good, so good. All right, on that note, we'll see you next week for another great episode.

Speaker 2:
